Energy generation from waste materials
Blauenthal Castle's energy concept sets standards: By utilizing waste materials and renewable resources such as biogas and solar energy, up to 70–80% of the total energy demand is met in a CO₂-neutral manner. This saves approximately 1,000 tons of CO₂ annually and creates opportunities for additional revenue through CO₂ certificate trading and the sale of high-quality compost.
The self-sufficient energy supply reduces operating costs in the long term and simultaneously solves municipal waste disposal problems by efficiently recycling agricultural waste and green waste.
