Unser Energiekonzept basiert auf dem Prinzip der Kreislaufwirtschaft:

Biologische Abfälle werden in Energie umgewandelt, die nicht nur unser Hotel, sondern auch die Nachbarschaft nachhaltig versorgt. Mit Technologien wie Feststoffvergasung, Abwasserturbinen und Energiespeichern erreichen wir einen hohen Autarkiegrad und nahezu CO₂-neutralen Betrieb

Energy generation from waste products

Through solid fermentation of green waste and waste, we produce biogas and reduce waste sustainably

Supply by combined heat and power plant

Electricity and heat are generated by a combined heat and power plant to cover all basic needs independently

Additional energy and storage

We generate and store energy using wastewater turbines, photovoltaic systems and other technologies

Efficient management and marketing

An IT-supported control system delivers energy exactly where it's needed. The total output can participate in CO² trading.

Energy generation from waste materials

Blauenthal Castle's energy concept sets standards: By utilizing waste materials and renewable resources such as biogas and solar energy, up to 70–80% of the total energy demand is met in a CO₂-neutral manner. This saves approximately 1,000 tons of CO₂ annually and creates opportunities for additional revenue through CO₂ certificate trading and the sale of high-quality compost.

The self-sufficient energy supply reduces operating costs in the long term and simultaneously solves municipal waste disposal problems by efficiently recycling agricultural waste and green waste. With a modern infrastructure and optional hydrogen storage/conversion, the concept offers not only ecological benefits but also attractive economic viability for investors.

We buy
general garden waste

The State Dam Administration, the State Forestry Service, and municipalities have large quantities of green waste, which often has to be disposed of at a cost. We use it as a basis for generating our energy.

We buy agricultural
waste

We purchase manure from farmers to use in our biogas plants. This helps prevent soil and groundwater pollution from excessive nutrient inputs and contributes to environmental protection.

food scraps
& oils

Food waste from local hotels and restaurants is a valuable resource for our biogas plants. We collect this waste directly – a sustainable solution that also saves businesses disposal costs.

composted
soil

By processing waste materials, we also produce high-quality composted soil – ideal for our own fields, agriculture, and gardens. Completely in keeping with the spirit of a circular economy.
